The Budget feature in BudgetPulse allows users to enter an amount as a budgeted limit, target or targeted balance in expense, income and individual account respectively. A percentage bar with expenses, incomes and account balance based on those amounts (in a specified period) will be presented.

The expense budget limit is based on categories depending on the expense, e.g. food, transport, clothing etc. that user has already recorded in the database. All the expense transactions in the same category in the specified period indicated by the start date and end date at Date Picker on Expenses Budget Page will be summed up and displayed as a percentage bar against the budget limit set. You may set the start and end date at the Date Picker to alter the period within which the expenses are counted. The percentage bars on budget expenses of the current month will be displayed on the Dashboard page when a user logs in.

The same principles apply to income targets but the targets will be displayed on Incomes Budget Page only. As for the targeted balance in individual accounts, the percentage bar will display the balance of the respective accounts on the end-date from the Date Picker. Furthermore, those percentage bars of all the accounts will be shown on the left column of users Dashboard Page.
